During my high school years in the 1970s, I came up with the idea for All Mary's Treasures. My mother taught all of her children to knit, crochet, and sew. Since I came from a large family with strong traditional Christian values.
I excelled at knitting, crocheting, and sewing, going so far as to teach these skills to others before going to high school and continue to do so to till date. So, I have more than forty years of experience in the crafts world and still conduct classes today.
I aim to make my creations available to those who have a strong desire to stand out and for the ones who love to bring a smile to the faces of their loved ones. My work resembles my family tradition's love, devotion, and enthusiasm.
I created a crochet and knitting club with a cousin when I was a teenager for the summer for the neighborhood kids. We crocheted, knitted, and sewed clothing items for newborn infants, prom dresses for friends, choir and church uniforms, and unique costumes for a Fourth of July parade group. I made most of my children's clothing when they were babies and used my skills to bring extra finances into my household.
For many years, I was a victim of domestic violence. It was terrifying, and I would have died by now if God had not intervened. I retaliated with what I knew I was capable of. It is difficult and hard but with God on our side, the right teachings, and love, disenfranchised women worldwide can have a normal joyful life no matter what.
Pslam 91, Security of the One Who Trusts in the Lord
1. He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. 2. I will say to the Lord, "My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I Trust!' 3. For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper And from the deadly pestilence. 4. He will cover you with His pinions, And under His wings you may seek refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark. 5. You will not be afraid of the terror by night, Or of the arrow that flies by day; 6. Of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, Or of the destruction that lays waste at noon. 7. A thousand may fall at your side And ten thousand at your right hand, But it shall not approach you. 8. You will only look on with your eyes And see the recompense of the wicked. 9. For you have made the Lord, my refuge, 10. No evil will befall you, Nor will any plague come near your tent. 11. For He will give His angels charge concerning you, To guard you in all your ways. 12. They will bear you up in their hands, That you do not strike your foot against a stone. 13. You will tread upon the lion and cobra, The young lion and the serpent you will trample down. 14. Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him securely on high, because he has known My name. 15. He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will rescue him and honor him, 16. With a long life I will satisfy him And let him see My salvation,"
I am using crochet and knitting as a vehicle to reach out and empower disenfranchised women in need. Always keeping God in your life an in all that you do.
God has given me a golden opportunity to let me help women or anyone who wants to learn the gift of crochet, knit or sewing. This gift was given to as a young child from my mother. I excelled in it along with my siblings. All were taught. This is something that you can take with you anywhere for the rest of your life. Therefore giving God the glory, while providing for yourself or family making ends meet if you need too. As the saying goes, teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime.
